70 minutes on the treadmill at 1% grade.

I read with the grade of the treadmill at 1% it closers mimics the results that you would get outside.

Weight at 217. Slowly going down. Even with the lousy eating habits.

I'll be hooking up with 'Big Read", Dave Romansky for some long walks.

Photo to the left is at the 1995 WAVA games 5km on the track in Buffalo, NY. I went out way too fast, actually leading the race for awhile but faded in the end.

1997th place: 25:15.45

Week Two

I'll probably drop the "Day and Week" of the blog post title.

I hit the circuit today and did 30 minutes on the treadmill. Planning on going back tonight for another 30 minutes or more.

Photo the left is me at the 1995 WAVA 20km World Championships. I was the third american in our age group and we took medal. I forget which one. I think gold.

The race was on the old 10 National course in Niagara Fall, NY, USA side. It was a really hot day and I went out really slow and passed a lot of walkers in the second half as most faded because of the heat.

I finished 8th in 1:52:13, 1st place team (USA)

Forgot to post about Saturday, November 22. I went to the gym and did 30 minutes on the treadmill and 20 minutes on the bike.

Today is my oldest daughter Amy's birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Day Two Training

First circuit training tomorrow and a long session on the treadmill. As I train I think WWBRD, "What would Big Red Do?. "Big Red" is Dave Romansky. One of the best racewalkers I've ever had the pleasure to train with and compete with.

Weight: 218, First goal is sub 200 before race.

The photo photo to the left is Dave Romansky beating the 1946 50K Olympic Champion at the 1969 1,500 Olympic Invitational in an American record of 5.59.5

Dave is one of the fieriest racewalkers I know.

Day One Training

Did one hour on the tread mill. Finishing at 6mph, 10 minute pace.

The gym www.PlanetFitness.com has a cool 30 minute circuit that I'm going to check out Friday.

I'm Back!!!

Back in training :-)

I've said that a few times. But this time I have Jack Lach to thank. He has challenge me to do the Polar Bear 10 miler in Asbury Park, NY at the end of December. This my last change to get, at least one race in before I move into to the next age group January 2, 2009 when I'll be 55. I really don't want to miss another age group.

This is a a great race that I remember well. I've had many a battle with fellow racewalkers. I've even won this race a few times. No hopes of that this time. But should be fun.

The photo to the left is me in my leaner racing days. Albeit a little lighter. Currently 221.
